Union Pacific 4014, also known as the "Big Boy", is a steam locomotive owned and operated by the Union Pacific (UP) as part of their heritage fleet. It is a four-cylinder simple articulated 4-8-8-4 "Big Boy" type built in 1941 by the American Locomotive Company (ALCO) of Schenectady, New York. No. 4014 is the only operating Big Boy of the eight that remain in existence.
The locomotive operated in revenue service until 1959, when it was donated to the Railway and Locomotive Historical Society in late 1961 and thereafter displayed in Fairplex at the Rail Giants Train Museum in Pomona, California. In 2013, UP re-acquired the locomotive and launched a restoration project at their Steam Shop in Cheyenne, Wyoming. In May 2019, No. 4014 was operated for the first time after sitting dormant for almost six decades. It ran its first excursion, doubleheaded with Union Pacific 844, three days later on May 4, 2019
I dove into the world of photography in 2007 when I quit coaching baseball and I have not looked back since. I love capturing great plays in sports, loving families, wonderful smiles and seeing Gods great creation through the lens of the camera. I feel truly blessed to be able to capture and freeze special moments and places. In 2018 I officially started Lens Art Photography and have thoroughly enjoyed capturing special moments for my clients. I have been published on the cover of a children's book (Curveball by John Danakas) and also in The Best of Photography book for 2013. I have had several photos displayed at the Iowa State Fair and have won two Honorable mentions and a Third place along the way. I love everything about the world...
